The Tiger Roars

The Jungle Top Ten: 2016 Games Workshop Releases by Patrick Eibel
It's been a while since I did a Top Ten list, but a year-end ranking of GW releases in 2016 should help put things right.  Let's start with....

10. Codex: Deathwatch.  A fun little fill-in codex made mostly superfluous by Codex: Imperial Agents.

9.  Black Crusade: Angel's Blade.  Updated rules for Blood Angels, for those that cared.

8.  Black Crusade: Traitor's Hate.  An attempt to revitalize Chaos Space Marines that had some good ideas, which all show up in the much better Traitor Legions supplement.

7.  War Zone Fenris: Wrath of Magnus.  Sandwiched between a bunch of bigger releases, this almost got lost.  The awesome Magnus model pushes it up the list, but a lot of the Tzeentch rules get carried over into Traitor Legions

6.  Codex: Genestealer Cults.  GW seemes to be putting out books for any one-off army they ever had, which is generally a good thing.  I probably would be more excited if Tyranids were any good.

5.  Codex: Angels of Death.  Oh, look--more Formations to customize your Space Marines.

4.  Planetary Onslaught.  Updates the rules for Planetstrike, Cities of Death, and Stronghold Assault, and includes a full set of terrain dataslates for all those neat terrain pieces you own.

3.  War Zone Fenris: Curse of the Wulfen.  New units, some cool Formations, and some new missions put this high on the list.

2.  Codex: Imperial Agents.  Rules for how to incorporate Sisters of Battle, Deathwatch, Inquisition, Grey Knights, Assassins, Cult Mechanicus, and Legion of the Damned into existing Imperial armies, or as stand-alone armies for the larger factions.

1.  Codex Supplement: Traitor Legions.  Finally, rules for making different Chaos armies based on their legion.  The diversity of the Traitor Legions book makes the Traitor's Hate book look paltry by comparison.
