King of the Hill II
King of the Hill, Part Deux by Patrick Eibel and Kenton Kilgore
Last year, we did a round-robin campaign that pitted the Sixth Edition armies we owned against each other. During the course of the campaign, GW released a new edition, so we now find ourselves with all new books and armies to try out (not to mention the codices that came out after our campaign was finished). The only solution is …. run that sucker again!
This year’s campaign will have four battles and feature some of the armies that have gotten new books recently (well, more or less "recently" given how fast GW is cranking them out now). We will do things slightly differently this time around, so no round-robin (each army appears once), and we will use the Maelstrom missions (we ran through all the standards last year).
Each battle in the campaign will be 2,000 points. When selecting an army, each player may use any of the formations from the latest version of their armies’ codex, any current dataslates, and the detachments in the rulebook. For example, an Ork army could use a CAD or any of the formations in the Ork Codex, Sanctus Reach, or Ghazghkull Thraka Supplements.
Here are the battle pairings listed below; missions will be chosen before each battle:
These pairings have some classic foes and should provide some really exciting battles.
